Every month, countless young girls stay home from school because they cannot afford sanitary pads — a quiet crisis that hinders their education, self-esteem, and future opportunities. By coming together for this golf day, we sent a clear message that men have a role to play in ending period poverty, and that investing in girls is investing in the future of our communities.
On March 6, 2025, the beautiful Ruimsig Golf Course became more than just a sports venue — it was a gathering ground for purpose, compassion, and action. Successful Man Magazine, in proud partnership with Amatyma Pad Drive, hosted an impactful End Period Poverty Golf Day, aimed at raising funds to supply sanitary pads to less privileged girls across South Africa. With a powerful turnout of men from all walks of life — business leaders, professionals, and everyday heroes — this event demonstrated that real men stand up for girls' dignity and education. One of the most memorable highlights of the day was the presence of Qrate, who are running the "Dad for Pads" campaign — an initiative that gives men first-hand insight into what period pain feels like. Through a unique simulation experience, men were challenged to step into girls' shoes and experience a fraction of the discomfort and challenges women face monthly. This moment was not only humbling but also raised deep awareness and empathy, making the cause even more personal and urgent.
